Eggnog-flavored ice cream made in the Ninja Creami is a delightful dessert that captures the traditional flavors of the season. If you love classic eggnog, this recipe delivers a velvety texture and nostalgic spice in an easy, one-ingredient finish.

What is a Ninja Creami?

The Ninja Creami is a countertop appliance designed to make homemade ice cream, gelato, sorbet, frozen yogurt, Italian ice, milkshakes and slushies with minimal effort. I use the 11-in-1 Deluxe model, which includes extra functions and additional pint containers, but more basic models work well too and are often available at a lower price.

If you don’t own a Ninja Creami yet, smaller or older models still produce excellent homemade ice cream and commonly go on sale during major shopping events.

Creating Holiday Flavors

We use our Ninja Creami year-round, and turning seasonal favorites into frozen desserts is one of the best parts. Eggnog already has a rich, creamy base, which makes it an ideal single-ingredient option for the Creami. Whether you use homemade eggnog or a store-bought brand, freezing it in the Creami produces a luscious dessert full of traditional nutmeg and holiday spices.

You can tweak the flavor before freezing if you like—stir in an extra pinch of nutmeg, a spoonful of brown sugar, or a couple of tablespoons of dark rum for a boozy variation. This method is also a great way to use up leftover eggnog after the holidays.

Once you try this basic eggnog ice cream, you may want to experiment with other festive variations like candy cane, bread pudding, or spiced fruit—there are plenty of delicious possibilities.

How To Make Eggnog Ice Cream in the Creami Ninja

  1. Pour 2 cups of eggnog into a Ninja Creami pint container and close the lid. Place the pint in the freezer for 24 hours on a level surface so it freezes evenly.
  2. When frozen, remove the pint from the freezer, take off the lid, and place the pint into the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Secure the outer bowl lid.
  3. Lock the outer bowl into the machine and run the Ice Cream cycle according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow the cycle to finish.
  4. If the ice cream is crumbly or powdery on the first spin, reinsert the pint and use the Re-Spin function. If it remains too dry, add one tablespoon of milk or eggnog and re-spin until you reach a smooth, scoopable texture. Serve with a dusting of fresh nutmeg if desired.
